Mergix is a strategic color-matching puzzle game where students place colored pieces on a grid and try to create rows or columns of three matching colors. The game begins on a 3×3 board, and when three pieces of the same color line up, they clear from the board, creating more space for future moves. As pieces stack on top of one another, their colors blend according to color theory, creating new colors and adding an extra layer of strategy. As players continue clearing pieces, the board gradually expands, providing more opportunities—and more challenges. However, if a space accumulates too many layers of color, it becomes unplayable. The game develops K–5 mathematical skills such as pattern recognition, spatial reasoning, strategic planning, and logical thinking. Students also explore concepts of color mixing, prediction, and cause-and-effect as they decide where to place each piece and how their choices will affect future moves.
