Story Time Chess Beginners introduces students to basic chess moves through seven mini levels focused on the king and pawns. Students begin by moving the king around the chessboard to eat pizza, learning how the king can move one space in different directions. As they progress, they practice thinking about position, direction, and possible paths before finishing with a pawn race. These challenges connect to K–5 math skills including counting, patterns, spatial reasoning, position, direction, and problem-solving.
