Story Time Chess

Story Time Chess introduces children to chess by helping them learn how each chess piece moves and interacts on the board. Players can choose a level or 2-player mode as they practice planning moves and working toward checkmate. As they play, children build mathematical thinking by exploring patterns, position, direction, distance, and spatial relationships. The chessboard encourages students to think about rows, columns, diagonals, and spaces while comparing possible moves and predicting what might happen next. Through play, students strengthen K–5 math skills including counting, geometry, spatial reasoning, logical thinking, sequencing, and problem-solving.
