Sums Out is a strategic math puzzle game where players clear tiles by creating specific target sums shown at the top of the board. Students select number tiles to add up to each highlighted sum, clearing them in a set order that requires careful planning. Each tile also has a direction, meaning it can only move off the board in the way it is pointing, so learners must think ahead about sequencing and order of selection. Early levels focus on positive numbers and addition, helping K–5 students build number sense and addition fluency. As the game progresses, negative numbers introduce subtraction, and multiplication tiles add a new layer of challenge by changing values along a tile’s path.
