Zombie Potato Chess is a chess-inspired strategy game where players either help the king survive or control a horde of zombie potatoes. Players can choose to play as the king, zombie potatoes, random, or in 2-player mode. As the king, the goal is to avoid being checkmated by the zombie potatoes. As the potatoes, the goal is to trap and checkmate the king. Chess rules apply, and the zombie potatoes can only move forward. As students plan moves and anticipate their opponent, they practice K–5 math skills including spatial reasoning, direction, position, patterns, logical thinking, and problem-solving.
